Adelene Smith

Adelene Rogers Smith, age 82, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at her home. Adelene was born on March 9, 1931 to her parents the late Burley Rogers and Versia Thomas Hensley. She was the wife of the late Arnold Smith, a homemaker, and a member of the Zebulon Church of Christ for over fifty years. Along with her husband and parents, Adelene was preceded in death by one sister, Willa Dean King. Adelene is survived by two daughters, Patty (Gene) Slone, Diana (Jim) Damron, one son, Dwayne (Pam) Smith, three sisters, Henra Faye Hutchings, Barbara Gail Chaney, Anita Gaye Maynard, three grandchildren, Katie, Patrick, Peyton, one great grandson, Edmond, one step granddaughter, Chandra, one step great grandson, Tanner, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at 12:30P.M. with Hillary Underwood, Shane Lockard, and Sam Casebolt officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
