Elvey Lee Salisbury age 85 passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at his home. Elvey was born on Oct. 16, 1928 to his parents the late Walk Salisbury and Virgie Spears Salisbury. He was the husband of Laura Bell Adkins Salisbury, a retired factory worker for Wyandotte Chemicals in Michigan, a member of the Owsley Freewill Baptist Church, and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Along with his parents, Elvey was preceded in death by his stepmother, Marvin Salisbury, and two sisters, Nolie and Stellie. In addition to his wife, Elvey is survived by three sons, Gary Salisbury, Michael Salisbury, Glen Salisbury, two daughters, Enola Gay Allen, Linda Salisbury, six brothers, Gene, Bill, James, Don, Edgar, and Dan Salisbury, three sisters, Cleo Dalton, Mildred Martin, Gracie Ashley, ten grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Eddie Overstreet, Michael Salisbury, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Salisbury Cemetery at Toler Creek.
