Carl Young

Carl Kenneth Young, age 81, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Carl was born on July 12, 1932 to his parents the late Mike Young and Willie Marie Burris Young. He was the husband of Betty Burchett Young, a retired carman for Norfolk and Southern Railroad, and a member of the Long Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his wife, Carl is survived by one daughter, Carlette (Charles) Stalker, two brothers, Neal 'O. (Rita) Young, Glen Douglas (Betty Mae) Young, six grandchildren, Gregory Warren Kiser, Sharah Ruth Spears, Brandy Elaine Shanks, Charles Randall Stalker, Michael Winn Kiser, Andrew H. Stalker, five great grandchildren, Justin Kiser, Evan Kiser, Preston Tackett, Gabriel Kiser, Matthew Spears, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday at Long Fork Freewill Baptist Church with church services at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Long Fork Freewill Baptist Church with Greg White officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
