Andrew Long

Andrew Lafayette Long, age 71, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 in Kissimee, Florida. Andrew was born on Dec. 25, 1942 to his parents the late Orbin Long and Verna Bentley Long. He was the husband of Nella Clevinger Long, a retired machine operator for Lucent Technologies in Columbus, Ohio, and a member of the Summit Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his step mother, Marie C. Long, two brothers, Robert Long, Charles Wayne Long and one step brother, Arthur Lee Long. In addition to his wife, Andrew is survived by one son, Chad Long of Delaware, Ohio, one daughter, Andrea Long (Keith) Stallings of Sneads Ferry, N.C., two brothers, Ervil Howard Long, Roger Long, two grandchildren, Jordan and Evan Stallings and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday 5p.m. to 9p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will also be Friday morning from 11a.m. to 1p.m. The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Michael Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Clevinger Family Cemetery at Venters, Ky.
