Lucinda Slone

Lucinda Akers Slone, age 58, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Lucinda was born on Jne 10, 1955 to her parents the late Frank Akers and Mellie Tackett Akers. She was an employee at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center for over 18 years and a member of the Dorton old Regular Baptist Church for 37 years. Along with her parents, Lucinda was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Lucinda is survived by one son, John Franklin (Chasity) Slone, one daughter, Christy (Shannon) Burke, four brothers, Paul, Bruce, Clarence, and Truman Akers, and three sisters, Betty Hall, Barbara Collins, Wanda Bailey, six grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery at Dorton.
