Michael D. Wellman

Michael D. Wellman, age 46, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Michael was born on May 25, 1967 to his parents Edith Rowe Wellman and the late Ermel Dale Wellman. He was the husband of the late Jennifer Thacker Wellman, and a coal miner. Along with his mother, Michael is survived by one daughter, Emily Kay Wellman, one son, Logan Michael Wellman, two brothers, Mitchell Dale Wellman, Mark L. Wellman, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Unity Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Dow Brooks Cemetery at Draffin.
