Donald Hester

Donald Hester, age 93, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at his home. Donald was born on Feb. 9, 1921 to his parents the late Elmer Hester and Harriet Crider. He was the husband of the late Eloise Ratliff Hester, a retired coal miner for Beth Elkhorn Coal Company, a church member, a mason, and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Along with his wife and parents, Donald was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Donald is survived by one daughter, Marsha Lynn Hopkins, one granddaughter, Melissa Reffitt, two great granddaughters, Evelyn and Magnolia Reffitt, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Tommy England officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Mausoleum.
