Annette Johnson, age 81, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at her home. Annette was born on March 5, 1933 to her parents the late Ben Johnson and Myrtle Fouts Johnson. She was the wife of the late Jesse Oscar Johnson. She worked for Gibson's Department store until they went out of business then she came a mail carrier for 13 years for the U.S. Postal Service. After that, she was a homemaker. One of her greatest joys was celebrating the holidays with her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Virgie and will be greatly missed by all her friends and family. Along with her husband and parents, Annette was preceded in death by one sister Violet Johnson, and one brother, Ralph B. Johnson. Annette is survived by one son, Jackie (Ruby) Johnson, one brother, Gene Bo (Sandra) Johnson, and three sisters, Vonda (Hubert) Johnson, Croma (Marvin) Tackett, Inez (Harrison) Bentley, a special great nephew: Charlie Broderick, special great niece: Allison Salyer, a special friend: Dorothy Fields. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday and Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Phillip Johnson, Edley Newsome, and Gregory Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery.
