Ira Stanley

Ira Stanley, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Ira was born on April 20, 1928 to his parents the late Floyd Stanley and Minnie Stanley.  Ira was the husband of the late Josephine Stanley, retired from Walter Slone's Mining, and a believer of the baptist faith.     Along with his wife and parents, Ira was preceded in death by four brothers, Authal Stanley, Tom Stanley, Delmon Stanley, Arson Stanley, three sisters, Zettie Stanley, Gathel Stanley, and Betty Ann Maynard.     Ira is survived by one son, Tommy Neil (Jennifer) Stanley, four daughters, Wanda (Gary) Adkins, Deborah Corder, Kathy (Alex) Hamilton, Tammy Maggard, one sister, Laura Cullop, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.     Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Richard Meek officiating.  Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery at Pikeville, KY.
