Geneieve Prater

Geneieve DeRossett Prater, age 78, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Geneieve was born on July 4, 1935 to her parents the late Elige DeRossett and Francis Layne DeRossett. She was the wife of the late Oliver Prater, a homemaker, and a member of the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Geneieve was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Prater, three brothers, four sisters, and one grandson, Christopher Prater. Geneieve is survived by three daughters, Diana (Doug) Fleming, Karen Prater, Deborah (Keith) Cavins, one son, Ricky Prater, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Greasy Creek Freewill baptist Church. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Jimmy Jack Adkins and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater Cemetery at Greasy Creek.
