Clarence Ratliff, age 68, of Powell's Creek Rd, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center after losing a battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 31, 1945 at Morgans Creek, Phyllis, Ky., the son of the late Curtis and Madeline Williamson Ratliff. He was a retired coal miner and carpenter. He was a faithful member and trustee of Victory Temple Holiness Church In Jesus Name at Justiceville since 1987, and one of the original founding members. He has been a faithful servant of the Lord for over 40 years. He loved to hunt rabbit and turkey with his friends, bur his first love was for the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Ratliff and Madeline Williamson Ratliff, and one brother, Curtis Ratliff Jr. He is survived by his wife Polly Ann Martin Ratliff, two sisters, Betty Short of Meta, Virgie Adams of Garden Village, six brothers, Julius Ratliff of Morgan County, Clinard, Billy, Ray, and Raymond all of Powells Creek, and Bobby Ratliff of Burning Fork. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday August 1, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Clinard Ratliff, Billy Ratliff, and Jimmy Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
