Herman R. Puckett

Herman R. Puckett, age 90, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his home. Herman was born on July 3, 1924 to his parents the late Autie Puckett and Florence Wright Puckett. He was the husband of Marie Looney Puckett, a retired school bus driver and self employed coal miner, and a member of the Cedar Grove Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Herman was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Autie Puckett Jr., and two sisters, Madgie Helton, and Shelby Jean McCoy. In addition to his wife, Herman is survived by two sons, Leslie (Monica) Puckett, Larry (Lucille) Puckett, two daughters, Wanda (Richard) Gibson, Donna (Ronnie) Johnson, one brother, Lamorn Quesenberry, one sister, Ellen Overstreet, nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Union Association Building on Elkhorn Creek with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rob Ratliff Cemetery.
