Paul Holifield

Paul Holifield, age 86, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at his home. Paul was born on Oct. 6, 1927 to his parents the late Johnny Holifield and Babe Tackett Holifield. He was the husband of Verla Roberts Holifield, a retired steel worker for J & L Steel Mill, and a believer of the baptist faith. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis. Along with his wife, Paul is survived by two sons, Thomas (Nannette) Holifield, Larry (Wilma) Holifield, three brothers, John, Tommy, and Carl Holifield, four sisters, Geraldine Estep, Georgia Henson, Bea Newsom, Mary Mullins, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Daryl Newsom officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.
