Ritta Sue Akers

Ritta Sue Akers, age 70, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Ritta was born on March 2, 1944 to her parents the late Tom Akers and Bitha Ramsey Akers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Ritta was preceded in death by two brothers, John Thomas Akers and Robert Paul Akers. Ritta is survived by two sisters, Dian Lidster of Robinson Creek, Anna Margaret Charles of Raccoon, one brother, Clark E. Akers of Robinson Creek, a host of loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday and Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Brian Hundley and other officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery at Yeager, Ky.
