McCoy Tackett

McCoy Tackett, age 73, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at his home. McCoy was born on June 6, 1941 to his parents the late Fred Tackett and Icy Mullins Tackett. He was the husband of Emma R. Tackett, a coal miner, and a member of Dorton Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his parents, McCoy was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Tackett Belcher, two sisters, and two brothers. Along with his wife, McCoy is survived by one son, Richie Todd Tackett, one daughter, Kayla Walters, two brothers, Leon Tackett, Freddy Tackett, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jay Davidson, Leon Tackett, Hubert Potter, and other officiating. The burial will follow in the Roy Belcher Cemetery Blaze Branch.
