Thomas Leon Bentley, age 82, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at his home. Leon was born on March 31, 1932 to his parents the late Jimmie Bentley and Stella Damron Bentley. Leon was the husband of Jeanette Damron Bentley, a coal miner, and a member of the Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Korean War. Along with his parents, Leon was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald, Donald, and George Melvin Bentley, one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Thompson. In addition to his wife, Leon is survived by three sons, Paul Dean (Tammy) Bentley, Tommy (Betty) Bentley, Keith (Ama) Bentley, one daughter, Joan (Bubby) Sesco, three brothers, Kermit, Curtis, and Billy Bentley, three sisters, Nona Breland, Molly Osborne, Betty Hobson, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Teddy Honaker and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
