Baszella Childers

Baszella Childers, age 78, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at the Mt. View Health Care Center. Baszella was born on June 19, 1936 to her parents the late Monroe Holbrook and Ellen Haynes Holbrook. She was the wife of the late Vernon Prater Childers, a homemaker, and a member of the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Baszella was preceded in death by one son, Michael David Childers, one daughter, Mattie Ellen Moore, two grandsons, James M. Childers II, Terry Michael Childers, and eleven brothers and sisters. Baszella is survived by two sons, James M. Childers, Vernon L. Childers, one sister, Hattie Cantrell, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at 1p.m. at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church with Tommmy England, Homer Lee Mullins, Van Swindall, and Donnie K. Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Childers Family Cemetery at Shelby Gap, Ky.
