Bruce E. Freeman, age 80, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Grundy, Va. Bruce was born Oct. 17, 1934 to his parents the late Joe Freeman and Lena Dotson Freeman. He was the husband of Thelma Hunt Freeman, a retired coal miner and truck driver, and a deacon for Fed's Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mason Lodge #375 and he also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Along with his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Along with his wife, Bruce is survived by one daughter, Dottie (Darius) Sullivan, one son, Tommy (Tamra) Freeman, one brother, Charles K. Freeman, four grandchildren, Kathi Anderson, Stephanie Rich, Hawk Freeman, Lucas Freeman, three great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Feds Creek Baptist Church. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Feds Creek Baptist Church with Lloyd Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Valley Memorial Garden at Big Rock, Va.
