Ballard Tackett

Ballard Tackett, age 80, of River Rouge, Michigan, formerly of Long Fork of Virgie, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Michigan. Ballard was born on Feb. 13, 1934 to his parents the late Ballard Tackett and Icy Elswick Tackett. He was the husband of the late Phyllis Tackett, a warehouse employee for Sysco Corp., and a believer of the Regular Baptist Faith. Along with his wife and parents, Ballard was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Mullins. Ballard is survived by one nephew Mike Mullins, one brother, Goble Tackett, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Long Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, 12 noon, January 22, 2015 at the Long Fork Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers. The burial will follow in the Frank Tackett Cemetery at Long Fork.
