Edna Marie Kendrick

Edna Marie Kendrick, age 89, of Pikeville, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on September 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Andy Akers and Alvia Roberts. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kellie Kendrick, seven brothers and four sisters. Edna was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by five sons, Finas Akers, Donald (Patricia) Akers, Ralph (Susan) Kendrick, Johnny Michael Kendrick and Kelly Dewayne Kendrick, by a daughter, Patricia Bartley, by two brothers, Curtis and Joe Akers, by a sister, Ethel Thacker, by eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Billy Ratliff, Randy May and Arnold McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Sunday and Monday nights at 7 p.m.
