Gladys Mae Elkins, age 91, passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at her home. Gladys was born on Nov. 9, 1923 to her parents the late Noah Lucas and Emma Damron Lucas. She was the wife of the late Samuel Elkins Jr., a homemaker, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Gladys was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Ray Elkins, Harold Roger Elkins, five brothers, Challie, Willard, Jim, Johnny, and George, two sisters, Clara and Violet, and one grandson, Samuel Carl Elkins. Gladys is survived by four brothers, Larry, Jerry, Herman, Noah Jr. (Dude) and two sisters, Ruby and Jessie, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at the George's Fork Old Regular Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at 1p.m. at the George's Fork Old Regular Batpsit With Carson Wright, Robert Kelly, Bobby Yates, and Earl Dean Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the Elkins Cemetery.
