Ray Church

Ray Church, age 76, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Ray was born on Oct. 9, 1938 to his parents the late Clark Church and Rachel Church Justus. Ray was the husband of Evelyn Faye Mullins Church, a retired coal miner for Carol Coal Co., and a deacon for Panther Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Ray was preceded in death by one son, Ray Church Jr., and one sister, Thelma Blankenship. In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by one son, Clifford Jay Church, three sisters, Ida Mullins, Inise Mullins, Revia Smith, four grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Panther Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1p.m. at the Panther Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Kermit Lester, Jerry Overstreet, Jackie Yates, Larry Gibson, Arthur Shortt, Terry O'Quinn, Philip Estep, Gary Estep, Ivan Blankenship, Charles Hunt and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Family Cemetery at Panther Ridge Road.
