Nora V. Thacker, age 87, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was a resident of the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center, Phelps, Kentucky. She was born in Grundy, Va., on April 20, 1927, a daughter of the late Bill Potter and the late Vicie Stiltner Potter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Thacker; a daughter, Nora Mae Richardson; one sister, five brothers and two grandchildren. Nora was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist Faith. She is survived by a sister, Mae Yates of Newport News, Va., one brother, Gene Potter of Vansant, Va., two sons, Roger Potter of Grundy, Va., and James (JoAnn) Thacker of Harrogate, Tn; three daughters, Hazel (Earl) Hunt of Kimper, Linda (Melvin) Thompson of Pikeville, and Rita Sue (Larry) Barrett of Meridianville, Alabama; a son-in-law, Roy Richardson of Plano, Texas, and step children, Ruby Badillio of Toledo, Ohio, and Judy Hopson and Billy Thacker both of Fairborn, Ohio. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mikie Smith and Morgan Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
