Charles Ray Powell

Charles Ray Powell, age 72, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Charles was born on August 16, 1942 to his parents the late John A. Powell and Hazel Rowe Powell. He was a retired steel worker and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines. Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by three brothers, Lacy, Carroll, and James Randall "Lefty" Powell. Charles is survived by three sisters, Patty S. Layne, Phyllis Fink, and Sandy Hardin, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Larry Kendrick and Dean Hess officiating. Burial will follow in the Ratliff Cemetery at Poor Bottom.
