Homer Donald Keel, age 71, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Homer was born on January 21, 1944 to his parents the late Clyde Keel and Audrey Adams Keel. He was the husband of Beverly Carol Tackett Keel, a coal miner, and a member of the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Along with his wife, Homer is survived by one daughter, Misty (Glen) Lamb, one son, Brock Keel, four grandchildren, Sam Hamilton, Savannah Hamilton, Orianna Hamilton, Keygan Keel, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, April 10, 2015 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Billy Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery at Virgie.
