Jonah Johnson, age 85, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at his home. Jonah was born on June 8, 1929 to his parents the late Henry Johnson and Elizabeth Elkins Johnson. He was the husband of Lois Bentley Johnson, an auger operator, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his parents, Jonah was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Along with his wife, Jonah is survived by one daughter, Wanda (George) Burke, one son, Clyde (Stephanie) Johnson, two sisters, Ruth Thacker & Barbara Justice, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Danny Belcher, Jerry Damron, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery at Beefhide.
