Barry Adkins

Barry W. Adkins, age 62, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Barry was born on January 7, 1953 to his parents the late Mose Adkins and Virgie Thacker Adkins. Barry was the husband of Linda Gail Williams Adkins, a security guard for the Pikeville Medical Center, and a member of the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Barry was preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Gail Adkins. In addition to his wife, Barry is survived by one daughter, Sherry Lynn Butler, two step children, Roger Lloyd Keene, Steven Lee Keene, four brothers, Mose Adkins Jr., Jimmy Jack Adkins, Edgar Adkins, Larry Lee Adkins, two sisters, Iona Keene, Hattie Marie Bolin, thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, May 8, 2015 at 1p.m. at the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Junior Cantrell and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Duran Adkins Cemetery at Greasy Creek.
