Gwendel Johnson

Gwendel Johnson, age 64, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at his home. Gwendel was born on June 13, 1950 to his parents Lexie Johnson and the late George F. Johnson. He was self employed, a member of the Church of Christ, and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Along with his mother, Gwendel is survived by one daughter, Shannon Johnson of Lexington, Ky., two sons, Jeremy Johnson of Knoxville, Tn., Jordan Johnson of Lexington, Ky., two sisters, Georgia Lee (Jeffrey) Scott of Pigeon Forge, Tn., Garol (Gary) Compton of Lexington, Ky., four brothers, Garla (Linda) Johnson of Berea, Ky., Gregory (Sue) Johnson of Virgie, Ky., Garnie (Vicky) Johnson of White Pine, Tn., George F. (Kathy) Johnson of Pikeville, Ky., and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 7p.m. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Shelby Valley Church of Christ with services at 7 p.m. The funeral will be Monday June 1, 2015 at 11a.m. at the Shelby Valley Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
