Wanda Sue Johnson Burke

Wanda Sue Johnson Burke, age 69, of Virgie, KY, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. She was born on May 26, 1946, the daughter of Lois Bentley Johnson and the late Jonah Johnson. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, George Burke, Jr. Wanda was a homemaker and was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, George Burke, by her mother, Lois Bentley Johnson, by a daughter, Lois Wright, by a son, Jeff Burke, by a brother, Clyde Johnson and by four grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Danny Belcher, Jerry Damron, Teddy Honaker, Robbie Osborne, Harold Smallwood and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Soward Cemtery at Lick Fork. Special services will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.
