Danny Allen Hopkins

Danny Allen Hopkins, age 67, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. Danny was born on May 3, 1948 to his parents the late Carl Hopkins and Polly Marie Damron Hopkins. He was the husband of Burma Blackburn Hopkins, a retired heavy equipment operator, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a believer of the freewill baptist faith and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. Along with his parents, Danny was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Allen Hopkins, one brother, David Wesley Hopkins, sister-in-law, Rushie Hopkins. Along with his wife, Danny is survived by two daughters, Dana (Daniel) Hopkins Nichols, Haylee LaRae Marie Hopkins, four brothers, Gene (Joan) Hopkins, Carlos Hopkins, Jammie Hopkins, Tim (Dee) Mays, two sisters, Kathy (Gary) Coleman, Kerma Bartley, three grandchildren, David (Miranda) Clevinger, Tiffani (Mikey Belcher) Clevinger, Matthew (Jill Blackburn) Clevinger, two great-grandsons, Wesley & Ethan, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Delon Jones and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
