Dorothy Fay Skeens, age 80, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Dorothy was born on March 24, 1935 to her parents the late David Ray and Addie Flanary Ray. She was the wife of Donald Skeens, a homemaker, and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. Along with her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Ray and Carl D. Ray, and two sisters, Hazel Entler and Jewel Little. In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by two sons, Roger Skeens, Ricky Skeens, three daughters, Teresa Smith, Tammy Johnson, Tina Newsome, one brother, Lloyd Ray, two sisters, Lois Reynolds, Odera Compton, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker, Mike Justice, Dewey Roberts, Carson Wright, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
