Joann Roberts

Joann Roberts, age 68, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center. Joann was born on Jan. 23, 1947 to her parents the late Henry Clay Collier and Hazel Newsome Collier. She was the wife of the late Sam Roberts, a homemaker, and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Joann was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ed Collier, and two sisters, Ruth Moore, and Wanda Bowling. Joann is survived by one daughter, Ada (James) Moore, three sons, Ferlin Roberts, Clayton (Shelia) Roberts, Anthony Joe Roberts, two brothers, James Collier, Keith Collier, three sisters, Alice Akers, Barbara Roberts, Geneva Hamilton, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday and Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Randy Newsome and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Gid Little Cemetery.
