Walter Johnson, Jr.

Walter Johnson, Jr., age 63, of Three Mile Creek, Dorton, Ky, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born on June 29, 1952, the son of Martha E. Kelly Johnson and the late Walter R. Johnson. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Sue Johnson. Walter was a coal miner for the Beth Elkhorn Coal Company and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his mother he was also survived by a daughter, Jessica Hall, by five sisters, Rose (Bill) Mullins, Roxieann (Ron) Kendrick, Mona (Steve) Miller, Rita Kaye (Don) Vecchioni and Carol (Jerry) Kanes, by three brothers, Danny Johnson, Ernest E. (Kathy) Johnson and David L. Johnson and by four grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Walter Johnson Memorial Cemetery at Three Mile Creek. Special services will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
