Jacqueline Thompson Kendrick, age 77 of Raccoon, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2105, at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on July 17, 1938, the daughter of the late Amos and Martha Thompson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ruey Kendrick, by a brother, Paul David Thompson, and by two sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Mary Joyce Hopson. Before her retirement, Jacqueline was the Postmaster at the Raccoon Post Office. She is survived by two daughters, Brigetta Collins Darnell and Tammie Jo Adkins, by two sons, Tracy Ruey Kendrick and Steven Kendrick, by six brothers, Ernest Thompson, Joe Thompson, Charles Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Larry Thompson and Barry Thompson, by four sisters, Nell Tackett, Judy Muncy, Ann Meade and Doris "Joan" Niederriter, by three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mike Hopson officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
