Delores McCown

Delores McCown, age 79, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Delores was born on April 8, 1936 to her parents the late Dewey Bartley and Ruthie Ratliff Bartley. She was the wife of the late Dock McCown, a grocery store owner, and a believer of the baptist faith. Along with her husband and parents, Delores was preceded in death by five sisters, Irene Newcomb, Christine Craig, Zoomer Phillips, Georgia Messer, Ruby Lee Bartley, three brothers, Orbin Bartley, Olvia Bartley, and LeRoy Hill, and one nephew, Bobby Jack Bentley. Delores is survived by five nephews, Don (Sherry) Coleman, Ervin Newcomb, Nolan Newcomb, Dewey Craig, C.J. Craig, four nieces, Janet (Teddy) Reece, Helen Damron, Mary Christine, Aloma Hart and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015 at 12 noon at the Pine Grove Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartley Cemetery at Bowling Fork.
