Mary Alice Newsom

Mary Alice Newsom age 88 passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at her home. Mary was born on March 8, 1927 to her parents the late Charlie Jones and Linda Brown Jones. She was the wife of the late Lloyd George Newsom, a retired school teacher, director of Shelby Valley Senior Citizens, and a member of the Harold Church of Christ. Along with her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Mary Alice is survived by four sons, Lloyd Douglas (Wanda) Newsom, Danny Keith (Deloris) Newsom, Ronald Newsom, Wendell (Connie) Newsom, two sisters, Elizabeth Tackett, Verlie Hall,nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Willie Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
