Fred Carter, age 105, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at his home. Fred was born on July 7, 1910 to his parents the late Newte Carter and Jessa Gooslin Carter. He was a retired coal miner and carpenter and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a believer of the baptist faith. Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Zella King Carter, second wife, Alice Blackburn Carter, two brothers and three sisters. Fred is survived by one daughter Evelyn (Jeff) Hall, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday at 6p.m. at the Grassy Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Sunday and Monday at 6p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015 at 12 noon at the Grassy Freewill Baptist Church with Mark Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel, Ky.
