Margaret Adkins

Margaret Adkins, age 78, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Margaret was born on August 18, 1937 to her parents the late Alexander Joseph Hawkins and Arizona Potter Hawkins. She was the wife of the late Hiney Reed Adkins, retired check out supervisor for K-Mart, and a member of the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Reed Adkins, two brothers, Junior Hawkins, Bobby Gene Hawkins, and one sister, Sarah Coleman. Margaret is survived by one son, Richard (Melinda) Adkins, one daughter, Kathryn Adkins, one sister, Loretta Stevens, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, January, 7, 2016 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mike Sanders and Sam Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery.
