Marietta J. Moore

Marietta J. Moore, age 91, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at her home. Marietta was born on October 10, 1924 to her parents the late Conley Johnson and Fannie Childers Johnson. She was the wife of the late Victor Moore, a retired school teacher, and a member of the Virgie Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Marietta was preceded in death by four brothers, George Chase Johnson, Eugene "Poe" Johnson, Lowell Johnson, and Morris Johnson, and three sisters, Jessie Dixon, Anna Lee Mobley, and Fannie Edna Clark. Marrietta is survived by one son, Joe (Phyllis) Moore, one brother, Conley Johnson, two grandchildren, Sydney Jo Moore, Joseph Chase Moore, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 5:30p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Bill Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
