Arlin Bentley

Arlin Bentley, age 91, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at the Signature Health Care Center. Arlin was born on Oct. 5, 1924 to his parents the late Joe Bentley and Martha Bentley. He was the husband of Willa Allen Bentley, a truck driver for Henry Vroom Trucking, and a seaman in the U.S. Navy. Along with his parents, Arlin was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Kernie, Clarence, and Homer Bentley, and three sisters, Myrtle Hall, Clara Bentley, and Clarissa Bentley. Along with his wife, Arlin is survived by three sons, Gary, Larry, and Steve Bentley, one daughter, Janice Bentley Childers, one brother, Hayse Bentley, two sisters, Dorothy Stewardson, Hazel Thornsbury, sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker officiating. Burial will follow in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery at Shelbiana.
