Doris Lea Spurlock, age 72, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Doris was born on June 1, 1943 to her parents the late Ked Lowe and the late Grace Blackburn Lowe. Doris was the wife of James T. "Tom" Spurlock, Jr., retired school teacher for the Pike County Board of Education, and a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Doris Lea Spurlock was preceded in death by her parents. Doris is survived by her husband, James T. "Tom" Spurlock, Doris is survived by one son, Steve (Shereena)Spurlock and one daughter Rachel (Tim) Baker. Doris is also survived by one brother Kenneth (Barbara) Lowe and three sisters Helen (Harry) Altman, Blanche (Tim) Swanston and Phyllis (Steve) Friend and three grandchildren Hannah Grace Baker, Mason Howard Baker and Sarah Kathryn Baker and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6:00PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday night at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Larry Penix officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie Young Cememtery at Shelbiana.
