Carl Tackett

Carl Tackett,age 77, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Carl was born on March 29, 1938 to his parents the late Elmer Tackett and Arizona Bryant Tackett. He was the husband of Shirley Johnson Tackett, a coal miner, and a member of the Old Union Regular Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Along with his wife, Carl is survived by one son, David (Alice) Tackett, one daughter, Lisa (Jimmy) Hudson, one sister, Madeline Newsome, two grandchildren, Joshua and Destiny Tackett, two great grandchildren, Alexis Tackett and Alyssa Tackett, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Barry Lucas, Greg White, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Benny Johnson Family Cemetery at Jonancy, Ky.
