Ira "Lit" Anderson

Ira "Lit" Edward Anderson, age 66, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Ira was born on October 6, 1949 to his parents the late Gene Anderson and Guessie Johnson Anderson. Ira was a retired coal miner and he also served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam War. Along with his parents, Ira was preceded in death by one son, Ira Edward Anderson Jr., one grandson Caleb Bartley, two brothers, Thomas and John Anderson, and one sister, Vonda Jean Anderson. Ira is survived by one daughter, Christina Anderson, two grandsons, Devin Bartley and Caeden Bartley, three brothers, Roger Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Archie Anderson, two sisters, Sally Wright, Rita Riddle, and a host of loving family and friends who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John Morgan Anderson Cemetery.
