Martha Bevins

Martha (Jackie) Bevins, age 69, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at her home. Martha was born on August 13, 1946 to her parents the late Isaac (Ike) Thacker and Ethel Thacker. She was the wife of the late Curtis Bevins, a homemaker, and a member of the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Jackie was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Thacker, and one sister, Flo Thacker. Jackie is survived by one son, Isaac Bevins, one daughter, Melissa (Matthew) Newsome, two sisters, Phyllis Campbell, Ruth Wolford, three grandchildren, Michael Bevins, Markayla Howell, Madison Newsome, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Jack Adkins and Jimmy Reed Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bevins Family Cemetery at Pompey.
