Ruby Potter, age 86, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on Nov. 20, 1929 to her parents the late Johnny Martin Johnson and Sarah Francis Elkins. She was the wife of J.C. Potter, a homemaker, and a member of Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Ruby was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle, Elmira, Geneva, and six brothers, Albert, George, Bil, Arville, Johnny, and Perry. Ruby is survived by two sons, J.C. (Eva) Potter Jr., Johnny Earl (Teresa) Potter, one daughter, Linda (Terry) Potter Anderson, four grandchildren, Ryan Potter, Tiffany Potter Howard, Matthew Anderson, Joby Potter, and four great grandchildren, Dalton Potter, Maleigha Anderson, Caleb Howard, Caney Potter, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11a.m. at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery.
