William Bo Adkins, age 88, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. William was born on Feb. 28, 1928 to his parents the late John William Adkins and Lila Thacker Adkins. He was the husband of the late Nellie Louise Gilliam Adkins, retired owner of Sunoco Station at South Mayo Trail, and a member of Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by one daughter, Drema Marrs, one granddaughter, Wendy Bray, and five brothers, James, Charlie, Sam, Dan, and Norman Adkins. William is survived by four daughters, Peggy Tackett, Rhonda (Gary) Thacker, Sharon (Dean) Blair, Lynn Morgan, two sons, John David Adkins, Danny Zack Adkins, one sister, Minnie Ratliff, eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, John Christopher, Rachel, Stacy Lee, Patrick, Jesse,Daniel, ten great grandchildren, Christopher, Colin, Caitlynn, Sheradan, Harper, Alexus, Conner, Kennedy, Chloe, & Kennedy, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Arnold Adkins and others. Burial will follow in the Dan Adkins Cemetery at Ford's Branch.
