Joe Whetzel Kendrick Jr., age 67 passed away Thursday June 16, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Joe was born on May 29, 1949 to his parents the late Joe Whetzel Kendrick and Louise Senters Kendrick. He was the husband of Louetona (Tonie) Kendrick, a coal miner, and a believer of the Christian Faith. He also served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Dale Kendrick and one sister, Carol Adkins. Along with his wife, Joe is survived by three daughters, Karen DeRossett, Shelley McGuire, Ashley Hall, and one son, Chad Kendrick, two step children, Pernell Roberts, Tammy Parker, one sister, Ann Ratliff, two brothers, Johnny Dean Kendrick, Kenny Kendrick, six grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Jack Adkins and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlands Memorial Cemetery at Paintsville, Ky.
