Doris Lorene Hughes

Doris Lorene Hughes, age 78, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Ky. Doris was born on Sept. 3, 1937 to her parents the late Oscar King and Fannie Smith King. She was the wife of the late Gabriel Hughes, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ. Along with her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by one brother, J.B. King, one sister, Betty Justice, one granddaughter, Veronica Jane Thornsbury, one great granddaughter, Haley Thornsbury. Doris is survived by two sons, Charles Michael (Sue) Hughes, Douglas (Lana) Hughes, two daughters, Teena (Kim) Justice, Angela (David) Shaner, one brother, Paul King, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Chester Ray Varney and Buddy Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
