Bennett Sawyers

Bennett D. Sawyers, age 68,of Lick Creek, Kentucky went to his heavenly home Monday, August 8, 2016 at his home. He was born in Pike County, June 19, 1948, the son of the late Tom Sawyers and Ora Hunt Sawyers. He was a Coal Miner and a member of the Lick Creek Holiness Church. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Smith Sawyers. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jonah Sawyers and Alvin Barkley Sawyers and two sisters Mary Smith and Lydia Williamson. He is survived by one son Joseph Sawyers. Survived by two sisters Grace Williamson of Lick Creek, Kentucky and Olga Bickford of Rockhouse, Kentucky. Also survived by two special nephews, Ronald Ray Abshire, Norman Stump and four grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Lick Creek Holiness Church with church service at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday August 11, 2016, at the Lick Creek Holiness Church with Ray Sawyers and Plennie Sawyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Sawyers Cemetery at Lick Creek, Kentucky.
