Wendell Reed

Wendell Reed, age 56, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 at his home. Wendell was born on Dec. 10, 1959 to his parents Chloe Ann Reed and the late Oscar Reed. He was the husband of Lydia Fields Reed, a coal truck driver, and a believer of the baptist faith. Along with his wife and mother, Wendell is survived by two daughters, Wendy Reed, Tara Reed, one son, Joe Justin Reed, two brothers, Kenneth Buck Reed, Eugene Reed, three sisters, Sharon Arnette, Karen Fleming, Janie Coleman, nine grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Frankie Bryant and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery at Island Creek.
